The Harlan County tennis teams swept visiting Barbourville on Tuesday, winning 5-4 in boys action and 6-3 in girls.
“I’m very proud of both of our teams fight coming off of our bye week from spring break,” Harlan County coach Caleb Bailey said. “I thought the boys did what they needed to do to get the win in a tight contest. The girls had a really good performance against a solid team and our 1 doubles of Kalista Dunn and Sophie Day had a nice win against a duo that qualified for state last year, so that is a nice confidence booster. We lost a few tight courts on both sides but we also won some tight courts. This team doesn’t give up and we seen a lot of fight last night that will carry us through the season.”
Harlan County returns to action Friday at Whitley County.
