Mackowiak, Creech combine on shutout as Bears defeat Letcher

Harlan County freshman Jackson Mackowiak gave up one hit over five innings Thursday in the Black Bears’ 7-0 junior varsity win over visiting Letcher Central.

Jackson Mackowiak pitched a one-hitter with three strikeouts and two walks as Harlan County rolled to a 7-0 win Thursday over visiting Letcher Central in junior varsity baseball action. Elijah Creech completed the shutout with two innings of work as he struck out four and walked one.

Kayden Adams led the HC offense with two hits and two runs scored. Gavvin Lloyd added a triple. Andrew Vance had a double. Chance Sturgill, Tobey Lunsford, Byron Shepherd, Creech and Kyllian Jackson added one single each.
