Even when Alexis Adams is not in the circle, the Harlan County Lady Bears are more than capable of dominating pitches performances as freshman Jordyn Smith proved once again Monday.
Smith gave up only one hit over five innings with seven strikeouts and one walk as the Lady Bears rolled to a 6-0 win at Whitley County. Adams pitched two hitless innings in relief with one strikeout and one walk.
Adams led the offense for the 11-6 Lady Bears with two hits and two RBI. Aly Sherman added a double, two walks and two runs scored from the leadoff spot. Kendall Brock, Carmen Thomas and Julionna Johnson added one single each.
Anderson had the only hit for Whitley with a triple in the fourth inning. The Lady Colonels fell to 6-11 with their fifth straight loss.
Harlan County returns to action Tuesday at Middlesboro.
