An Enterprise Staff Report
A Harlan County offense that has had its share of ups and downs of late came through in the clutch Tuesday as the top three hitters in the HC order collected seven hits and four RBI on the way to a 6-3 win at Bell County.
That was more than enough for junior Alexis Adams, who gave up four hits while striking out seven and walking one.
Jordyn Smith had three hits in three at bats with two runs scored. Aly Sherman had a double and single from the leadoff spot while Adams singled twice and drove in three runs.
“It was a great team win tonight at Bell. We capitalized on scoring opportunities with runners on base and played strong defense to support Lex in the circle,” said Harlan County coach Shelby Burton.
Kendall Brock added two singles for the Lady Bears, while Carmen Thomas had an RBI single.
Jayda Boating, Addison Maiden, Raeghan Moyers and Adyson Scott had one single each for the Lady Cats.
Scott pitched a complete game, giving up 10 hits with five strikeouts and six walks.
Harlan County (12-8) plays at Pineville on Thursday. Bell County (11-6) plays at Powell County on Friday.
