After four straight games where it seemed the Harlan County Lady Bears had forgotten how to hit, junior Alexis Adams made certain they only needed one run to break a four-game losing streak.
Adams pitched a three-hitter with 16 strikeouts and only one walk as the Lady Bears coasted to a 5-0 win Friday at Knott Central.
Jordyn Smith provided all the offense the Lady Bears needed with a home run and two singles. Aly Sherman and Kendall Brock added one double each. Adams, Raegan Landa, Bella Miniard and Aniston Burton contributed one single each.
The 13-12 Lady Bears play host to Whitley County on Monday and Bell County on Tuesday in a battle for the second seed in the upcoming 52nd District Tournament.
