Lady Bears fall to North in first round of regional

Harlan County's Katiera Lewis returned the ball against North Laurel on Tuesday in the regional tournament.
Harlan County’s volleyball season ended Tuesday in the first round of the 13th Region Tournament at Bell County High School with 25-8, 25-5, 25-19 loss to North Laurel.
Lindsey Browning led the 5-11 Lady Bears with two service aces, three digs, four blocks and two kills. Brenna Early added one service ace and three digs. Katiera Lewis had three digs. Lilly Caballero added two kills. Kamryn Hoiska had one kill.
It was the third straight losing season for HCHS and the fifth straight loss in the first round of the regional tournament over a six-year period.
Corbin will play Whitley County in the championship match on Thursday at 7 p.m.
