Tigerettes cement role as county favorite

Black Mountain quickly took control of a showdown of the county’s top two fifth- and sixth-grade teams, racing to a 13-0 lead after one quarter on the way to a 38-3 win over Rosspoint (5-2) on Monday at James A. Cawood Elementary School.
Maddie Bennett scored 10 points to lead the 6-0 Tigerettes. Rheagan Halcomb and Julia Vick added eight each.
Abby Elliott scored 14 points as James A. Cawood coasted past Evarts 25-7.
Shawnee Peace led the Lady Cats with three points.
Wallins rolled to a 22-2 win over Cumberland in the opening game as Reagan Landa poured in 12 for the Lady Devils.
