Middlesboro’s NaShawn Brooks drove to the basket against Harlan’s Nate Montanaro in middle school basketball action Monday. Montanaro hit the game-winning shot as the Dragons claimed a 51-49 overtime victory.

Nate Montanaro hit the game-winning 3-pointer in overtime as Harlan edged Middlesboro 51-49 on Tuesday in seventh- and eighth-grade basketball action.
Dylan Cox scored 20 points to lead the 1-1 Dragons. Will Shepherd and Montanaro added 14 and 12 points, respectively.
Jack Smith paced the Jackets with 14 points.
Jaxson Thomas scored 25 points to lead Middlesboro to a 44-34 win in fifth – and sixth-grade action.
Eli Freyer led the Dragons with 12 points.
