Senior forward Joby Johnson scored 24 points in Letcher Central’s 77-47 win Saturday at Phelps.

With four starters in double figures, Letcher Central stretched its win streak to four with a 77-47 rout of Phelps on Saturday.
Senior forward Joby Johnson poured in 24 points to lead the 5-2 Cougars. Nigel Nichols added 14 points, followed by Bodie Bentley with 13 and Isaiah Adams with 11.
“It was another solid effort on both ends for our guys,” Letcher Central coach Winston Lee said. “I was happy we were able to hit our spots for a balanced attack on the offensive end. Also, I was more satisfied with our ability to execute versus the press down the stretch. Still, we have to work harder on the glass and still some areas to work on defensively. We have a big test coming up next week. It should be a good a gauge.”
Letcher Central will travel to Knott Central on Tuesday for a key 53rd District clash.
