Former Harlan County High School standout Morgan Blakley set a school record for Union College in a race at Indiana Tech over the weekend.

A rare two-sport participant in athletics at Union College, former Harlan County High School standout Morgan Blakley broke the school record for indoor racewalk by five minutes on Saturday in a competition at Indiana Tech.
Blakley, a freshman, walked a 3K in a time of 21:22.27.
“The sky is the limit for Morgan,” said Union College assistant coach Chris Jelks. “I see her going to nationals and being an All-American in the near future.”
Blakley, who also plays basketball for Union, said she is still learning a new sport.
“I thought it was fun,” she said. “I’m excited to learn better techniques to make me faster. I liked it.”
