Harlan forward Will Austin looked for a teammate against pressure in Saturday’s game at Clay County. The Dragons fell 83-69 on Tuesday at Hazard.

Hazard took control in the first half, racing to a 42-19 lead by halftime, on the way to an 83-69 win Tuesday over the visiting Harlan Green Dragons.
Wade Pelphrey led Hazard with 23 points. Andrew Ford finished with 21 points. Samuel Shoptaw scored 10.
Jordan Akal led the Dragons with 21 points. Jaedyn Gist added 17 points, and Kaleb McLendon contributed 11.
The 10-4 Green Dragons travel to Lexington Christian Academy for the opening round of the All “A” Classic state tourney on Thursday.

Sawyer Patrick scored 12 points to lead Hazard to a 46-24 win in junior varsity action. Caleb Morris and Seth Caudill added 11 and 10 points, respectively.
John Bryson led Harlan (0-7) with 10 points. Matthew Pennington scored seven, followed by Johann Gist with five and Darius Akal with two.
