Dragons’ comeback falls short in All ‘A’ loss at Lexington Christian

Harlan guard Jordan Akal, pictured in action at Clay County, scored 18 points on Thursday as the Green Dragons fell to Lexington Christian in the state All “A” Classic.

After being limited to only two points in the second quarter to fall behind by 15 points at halftime on Thursday at Lexington Christian, the Harlan Green Dragons spent all of the third quarter catching up, getting as close as one.
The Dragons couldn’t maintain that intensity in the fourth period as Lexington Christian pulled away once again for a 61-48 victory in the first round of the state All “A” Classic.
Junior guard Tanner Walton scored 21 points to lead the 9-7 Eagles, who will advance to play Pikeville in the quarterfinals. Anderson Green added 12 points. Jeffrey Selby and Tyler Hall chipped in with 10 points each.
Harlan was led by junior guard Jordan Akal with 18 points and junior forward Jaedyn Gist with 12 points.
The 10-5 Green Dragons will travel to Pineville on Friday.
