Harlan County resident Brandon Bell was a winner over the weekend in an MMA fight in Bowling Green.

Brandon “The Juggernaut” Bell, a Mixed Martial Arts fighter and powerlifter from Evarts, was a winner on Saturday against Tom Theocharis at the Hard Rock MMA 119 event at the Sloan Convention Center in Bowling Green.
Bell, fighting out of Somerset Combat Academy and his personal gym, JTS, defeated Theocharis (4-3), fighting out of Niagra Top Team in Canada, at a weight of 175 pounds. Bell’s victory moved his record to 10-7. Bell has been competing since 2005 and has been a professional since 2008.
Bell is a strength and conditioning coach at Brewer’s Gym, where he holds the state record in powerlifting for his 181-pound weight division at 1,480 pounds. He also has recently opened his own MMA facility called the “Juggernaut Training System” at the KCEOC Verda Child Development Center in Evarts. He is currently ranked No. 1 in the welterweight MMA division in Kentucky.
With this victory, Bell hopes to advance in his fighting career.
”Definitely with a couple more wins, he is a great candidate for UFC’s Dana White’s Contender Series,” said Chris Lyle, a UFC Hall of Fame vet and B2 Fight Series Commentator.
Dana White’s Contender Serious is an American Mixed Martial Arts Promotion where top prospects are brought in to fight for a chance at a UFC contract. Bell’s dream is to eventually sign for the UFC and open his own powerlifting and MMA gym.
