Harlan continued perhaps the best season of middle school softball in school history with three wins Saturday in the 13th Region All “A” Classic.
“Our girls went to war. They played their hearts out,” said Harlan coach Conrad Thomas after the Lady Dragons improved to 11-0 on the season.
Ella Farley led a 17-hit Harlan attack in a 13-11 win over Middlesboro to open the tournament as she pounded out a triple and three singles. Ella Lisenbee added a double and two singles. Addison Jackson and Lilly Nantz each had a triple and single. Carley Thomas added a double and single. Abbi Fields singled twice. Ava Nunez had a double. Ally Kirby added a single.
Harlan edged Lynn Camp 9-7 in the semifinals as Lisenbee had a triple, double and single to lead the Lady Dragons. Jackson added a triple and two singles. Fields, Thomas and Nunez contributed two singles each. Farley added a triple.
Harlan downed Pineville 5-0 in the championship game as Jackson, Thomas and Nantz had triples for the Lady Dragons. Thomas struck out nine as she pitched a shutout.
