Moore shuts out Bobcats to give Harlan first district win

Jared Moore pitched a two-hitter Tuesday as Harlan routed Pineville 17-1.

With freshman right-hander Jared Moore in control from the start, Harlan earned its first district win of the season with a 14-0 victory Tuesday at Bell County.
Moore threw only 49 pitches as he scattered four hits while striking out three and walking none.
Jaeden Gist led the Harlan offense, driving in four runs with a triple and double. Jeremiah Mills and Noah Lewis added two singles each. John Mark Bryson and Ethan Cornett contributed one single each.
Ethan Raby, Dalton Stepp, Cole Hoskins and Hayden Clark had one single each for Bell County.
Hoskins suffered the loss on the mound as he gave up nine runs on seven hits in five innings. Stepp allowed five runs on one hit in one inning.
Harlan (4-7) plays host to Cordia on Thursday and Barbourville on Friday. Bell County (3-5) plays at Lynn Camp on Thursday.
