Harlan won a pair of slugfests against county competition in middle school baseball, defeating Cumberland 15-11 on Tuesday and New Harlan 22-15 on Thursday.
Brody Owens led the 6-5 Dragons against Cumberland with three singles and a double. Chris Rouse and Eli Freyer added three singles each. Jaxson Perry had two singles. Baylor Varner and Joseph Hoskins contributed one single each.
Freyer struck out four and walked seven in 2 1/3 innings on the mound. Varner struck out nine and walked five in 3 1/3 innings. Perry walked two as he pitched 1/3 of an inning.
Owens drove in six in the win over the Patriots with a double and two singles. Rouse, Varner, Freyer and Perry had two singles and two RBI each. Hoskins had a double. Brody Brock and Matthew Nunez added one single each.
Owens struck out two and walked none in three innings on the mound. Luke Luttrell pitched one inning. Zack Boggs pitched two innings.
Harlan fell 11-1 on Monday at Whitley County.
Nunez and Freyer each had singles for the Dragons, with Nunez driving in the only Harlan run. Rouse and Brock pitched for Harlan.
