Dragons fall to Letcher, Knox

Letcher Central’s Jonah Little slid into third base as Harlan’s Andrew Roark took the throw in action last week.

Letcher Central extended its win streak to five with wins over Harlan and Shelby Valley last week.
The Cougars collected 11 hits in an 8-2 win over visiting Harlan on May 4. Jonah Little, Christopher Akers, Kaleb Slone and Ethan Brown had two singles each to lead Letcher. Preston Helle, Canaan Cunniff and Dylan Pike added one single each.
Helle earned the win on the mound as he gave up two runs on five hits in five innings. Aiden Fields gave up two hits in two shutout innings.
Jaedyn Gist led the Harlan offense with a double and two singles In three at bats. Donovan Montanaro added a double. Shane Lindsey, Jeremiah Mills and Noah Lewis had singles.
Jared Moore suffered the loss for Harlan as he gave up eight runs on 11 hits with six strikeouts and four walks.

Knox Central scored in all five innings on the way to a 13-3 win over visiting Harlan.
Jaedyn Gist and John Mark Bryson had two hits each for the Dragons with Gist scoring twice and driving in one. Shane Lindsey and Donovan Montanaro added one hit each.
Bryson pitched a complete game, giving up 12 hits while striking out six and walking three.
Harlan (5-13) travels to Leslie County on Saturday.
