Harlan County Future win four of first five

Harlan County Future, an all-star softball team for ages 8 and under, defeated Leslie County 14-8 on Thursday.
Rhileigh Goins led Harlan County with four singles. Aniston Burton had a triple and two singles. Izzy Pendleton had a double and two singles. Campbell Thompson contributed three singles. Crissalyn Jones had a triple and single. Kelsey Myers added two singles. Kialia Phillips and Andrea Napier each added doubles. Maddy Barrett, Bella Ford and Natalie Pendleton had one single each.
Burton and Thompson each scored three runs. Goins and Jones scored two each. Barrett, Izzy Pendleton, Napier and Natalie Pendleton scored one each.
Harlan County Future will participate in a double-elimination tournament at Huff Park in late July.

Harlan County split two games against Hazard/Perry, losing 12-8 in the opener and winning 4-2 in the nightcaps.
Izzy Pendleton led Harlan County with two singles and a triple. Andrea Napier added two singles and a double. Rhileigh Goins had three singles. Crissalyn Jones added a triple and single. Natalie Pendleton singled twice. Aniston Burton added a double. Kelsey Myers, Maddie Barrett, Campbell Thompson and Bella Ford added one single each.
Napier scored three runs. Izzy Pendleton and Goins scored two each. Myers scored one.
Jones led Harlan County in the second game with a triple and single. Napier singled twice. Izzy Pendleton had a triple. Burton had a double. Goins, Thompson, Ford and Natalie Pendleton added one single each.
Myers, Jones, Napier and Izzy Pendleton scored one run each.

Harlan County won two games against the Virginia Shockers on Tuesday at Harlan County High School, 17-9 in the first game and 17-16 in the second.
Kelsey Myers led Harlan County in the opener with an inside-the-park homer and two singles. Andrea Napier had three singles and a double. Rhileigh Goings had double and a single. Maddy Barrett contributed two singles and a triple. Crissalyn Jones and Natalie Pendleton each added a double and two singles. Aniston Burton had an inside-the-park homer. Bella Ford and Campbell Thompson added singles.
Napier led Harlan County in the second game with a triple, double and two singles. Thompson had three singles and a double. Jones added four singles. Myers contributed a double and two singles. Burton had three singles. Barrett, Natalie Pendleton, Goins and Kialia Pendleton added two singles each.
