HCHS falls to Williamsburg in season opener

Serenity Whitehead and Lindsey Browning went to the net for a block in season-opening action Tuesday against visiting Williamsburg. The Lady Bears lost in three sets.

Harlan County improved each set in its opening match Tuesday against visiting Williamsburg but fell 25-15, 25-21, 25-23 to the Lady Jackets.
Kalista Dunn led the Lady Bears with seven digs, three kills and one ace. Lindsay Hall added three blocks, two kills and one assist. Lily Caballero contributed two aces, two digs and one kill. Chloe Shelton added four blocks and a dig. Lindsey Browning had three aces, two digs and one kill. Serenity Whitehead had three aces, one kill and one dig. Kamryn Hoiska added one kill.
HCHS will return to action Monday at North Laurel.

Harlan won its season opener 25-13, 23-25, 29-27, 25-20 on Monday at Pineville.
The Lady Dragons improved to 2-0 with a 25-22, 25-17, 16-25, 26-28, 15-6 win Thursday at home against Barbourville.
No other statistics were available.
Harlan will travel to Perry Central on Monday.
