Black Bear Invitational held Saturday at country club

The team of Pete Cornett Sr., Cole Cornett, Brett Widner and Pete Cornett Jr. won the Black Bear Invitational four-man scramble on Saturday at the Harlan Country Club.

The Harlan County High School golf team hosted the Black Bears Invitational four-man scramble on Saturday at the Harlan Country Club. The team of Pete Cornett Sr., Cole Cornett, Brett Widner and Pete Cornett Jr. won with a score of minus-20. Greg Lewis, Matt Lewis, Sam Moore and Blake Turner finished second at minus-16.
The closest to the pin on hole 3 and the longest putt on hole 4 were both won by Andrew Forrester. The long drive on hole 5 was won by Sam Moore. The pre-tournament putting contest was won by Greg Lewis.
“I would like to say a very big thank you to the staff at Harlan Country Club,” Harlan County coach Greg Lewis said. “They have the course in amazing condition, and I appreciate them hosting our scrambles, and I’m definitely looking forward to hosting a Pine Mountain Golf Conference match up there on Thursday.”
