Ward leads Trojanettes to victory at Cumberland

Hayley Ward scored 13 points to lead visiting James A. Cawood to a 39-18 win over Cumberland on Tuesday in seventh- and eighth-grade basketball action.
Lacy Robinson and Kaylissa Daniels added 12 and 10 points, respectively, for the Trojanettes.
D’Anna Cook, Destinee Smith and Ashlyn North each scored six for the Lady Skins.

Lady Devils close regular season with win over Black Mountain

Raegan Landa scored 14 points and Kayleigh Templeton added 10 as Wallins closed its regular-season schedule Tuesday with a 40-19 win over visiting Black Mountain in fifth- and sixth-grade basketball action.

Dragons open season with rout of Jackson County

Harlan opened its 2021-2022 middle school basketball in impressive fashion Monday with a 63-14 rout of Jackson County in seventh- and eighth-grade action at McKee.
Will Shepherd was one of four Dragons in double figures with 16 points. Trent Cole added 14, followed by Jake Brewer with 12 and Dylan Cox with 11.
Harlan fell 47-14 in fifth- and sixth-grade action as Jaxson Perry scored 10 and Zach Boggs added four to lead the Dragons.
The Green Dragons return to action Tuesday at Barbourville.

Stewart, Middleton power Cawood to victory

Emily Stewart and Maddi Middleton teamed for 27 points as Cawood defeated visiting Cumberland 39-20 on Monday in seventh- and eighth-grade basketball action.
Destinee Smith led Cumberland with 14 points.
Riley Clem scored 12 points and Jinna Smith added eight as Cawood won 20-0 in the fifth- and sixth-grade game.
Cawood won 3-0 in a junior varsity game as McKenna Stewart scored three points for the Lady Comets.

Landa leads Lady Devils to win over Cawood

Led by 15 points from Raegan Landa, Wallins defeated Cawood 32-12 on Thursday in fifth- and sixth-grade basketball action.
Jinna Smith led the Lady Devils with five points.
Wallins won 30-6 in seventh- and eighth-grade action as Preslee Hensley scored nine and Whitney Noe added eight for the Lady Devils.
