Dragons win two of three at Bell Showcase

Harlan won two of three games Saturday in the Bell County Showcase, defeating Barbourville 57-34 and Owsley County 49-41 before falling to Whitley County 36-35.
Trent Cole scored 22 points in the win over Barbourville. Dylan Cox added 10 points.
Cole scored 17, Cox tossed in 15 and WilL Shepherd added 10 in the win over Owsley County.
Shepherd and Cox scored 11 each against Whitley County.
The 7-2 Dragons return to action Monday at home against Williamsburg.

Cole leads Green Dragons to victory at Stinnett

Trent Cole poured in 31 points to lead Harlan to a 54-45 win Thursday at Stinnett in seventh- and eighth-grade basketball action.
Harlan won 46-35 in fifth- and sixth-grade action as Jaxson Perry poured in 20 points for the Dragons. Body Brock scored 13, followed by Zach Boggs with five and Cooper Thomas and J.J. Forrester with four each.

Four reach double figures as Dragons rout Pineville

The Harlan Green Dragons ran their record to 4-1 with a familiar formula to success as four reached double figures in a 59-21 rout of visiting Pineville in seventh- and eighth-grade basketball action.
Trent Cole scored 14 for the Dragons, followed by Dylan Cox with 12, Jake Brewer with 11 and Will Shepherd with 10.
Pineville won 42-23 in fifth- and sixth-grade action as Partin led the Lions with 11 points.
Jaxson Perry led Harlan with 11 points.
