Karst, Smith lead HCHS to scrimmage win at Williamsburg

Harlan County guard Ella Karst, pictured in action in last year’s regional semifinals, scored 23 points on Monday in the Lady Bears’ scrimmage win at Williamsburg.

Led by 23 points from sophomore guard Ella Karst and 13 from junior forward Jaylin Smith, the Harlan County Lady Bears rolled to a 58-34 win Monday at Williamsburg in scrimmage action.
Allie Wilson and Hannah Creekmore added 10 for the Lady Jackets.
Eighth-grade guard Cheyenne Rhymer led Harlan County to a 35-33 win in junior varsity action as she scored 19 points.
Harlan County will open its regular-season schedule on Monday at Knott Central, the defending 14th Region champs.
