Harlan senior guard Jordan Akal became only the sixth member of the exclusive 2,000-point club at Harlan High School and earned his second selection of the season as the Kellie Wilson Law Office Player of the Week in the process.
Akal scored 98 points last week at South Laurel in four games at the Legacy Nissan Dribble Drive Challenge.
Akal scored 20 against Dixie Heights on Tuesday in the Dragons’ only loss of the week. He then went over 2,000 with 25 points in a win over Rockcastle County on Wednesday, then added 21 in an overtime victory over Rowan County later in the day. Akal scored 32 in a comeback victory over Frederick Douglass on Thursday.
