Shuler leads Comets to victory over Cumberland

Ethan Shuler scored 19 points and Brady Smith added 11 as Cawood coasted past visiting Cumberland 41-21 in seventh- and eighth-grade basketball action.
Zayden Casolari led the Redskins with eight points.
Hayden Grace scored 11 and Carson Clark added 10 as Cumberland won 32-21 in fifth- and sixth-grade action.

Reggie Cottrell poured in 26 points as Black Mountain edged Evarts 36-34 in seventh- and eighth-grade basketball Thursday.
Aiden Reynolds led Black Mountain with 13 points.
Brenton Bargo scored 18 as Evarts rolled to a 47-11 win in fifth- and sixth-grade action.
Noah Whitaker led Black Mountain with six points.
Carson Farley scored six as Evarts won 14-5 in fourth-grade action.

Huff, Halcomb lead Falcons past Wallins

Aaron Johnson led Wallins with six points.
Eli Noe scored 12 and Ryan Day added 10 as Wallins rolled past the Falcons 38-15 in fifth- and sixth-grade action.
Brayden Lucas-Huff led Green Hills with eight points.

Trojans hold off comeback to edge Rosspoint

James A. Cawood built a big lead, then held off a Rosspoint rally to edge the visiting Wildcats 34-33 in fifth- and sixth-grade basketball action.
Logan Smith scored 16 points and Tyhler Coots added nine for the Trojans.
Trey Creech paced Rosspoint with 11 points. Hayston Hensley added nine.
Rosspoint won 48-45 in seventh- and eighth-grade action but no scoring information was available.

Green Dragons coast past Cumberland to close season

Led by 20 points from Jaxson Perry and 14 from J.J. Forester, Harlan closed its fifth- and sixth-grade schedule with a 51-29 win over visiting Cumberland on Thursday. The Dragons finished the year with a 3-8 record.
Carson Clark paced the Redskins with 12 points.
Harlan rolled to a 56-9 win in seventh- and eighth-grade action as Will Shepherd scored eight to lead the Dragons. Harlan finished the season with a 16-4 mark, placing second in the All “A” Conference.
