JACES, Wallins claim wins in county basketball

James A. Cawood and Wallins were winners Thursday in fifth- and sixth-grade basketball action.
Tyhler Coots scored 14 and Logan Smith added 10 as JACES routed Black Mountain 43-11.
Noah Whitaker led Black Mountain with six points.
Tanner Daniels poured in 19 and Ryan Day added 10 as Wallins downed Evarts 36-28.
Dakota Maggard led the Wildcats with 13 points.
James A. Cawood defeated Black Mountain 46-34 in seventh- and eighth-grade action as Brennan Blevins scored 16 and Kaden Jones added 15 to lead the Trojans.
Reggie Cottrell scored 15 to lead the Tigers. Shemar Carr added 10.
Evarts defeated Wallins 42-34 as Ashton Sizemore led the Wildcats with 12 points.
Noah Howard paced the Purple Devils with 15 points.

Cawood defeated Green Hills 37-18 as Ethan Shuler led the Comets with 14 points.
Dalton Halcomb led Green Hills with nine points.
Jaxton Miller scored 10 and Masyn Stewart added nine as Cawood downed Green Hills 31-12 in fourth-grade action.

Rosspoint defeated Black Mountain 37-14 as Rydge Lewis led the Wildcats with 11 points.
