Senior guard Jordan Akal moved into second place on the all-time scoring list at Harlan High School with a 33-point effort against Bell County last week. He added 22 points on Saturday in a win over Middlesboro to earn his third selection as the Kellie Wilson Law Office Player of the Week.
Akal has scored 2,449 points in his Harlan career, passing Wah Wah Jones and Jeff Miller into the second spot behind former Mr. Basketball Charles Thomas, who scored 3,365 points before his graduation in 1995.
