Playing in the shadow of teammate Jordan Akal for much of the past four years, Harlan forward Jaedyn Gist is making a name for himself this season as recently joined the school’s 1,000-point club while leading the Green Dragons to three straight district victories.
Gist earned the honor as Kellie Wilson Law Office Player of the Week as he scored 23 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in the Dragons’ 64-56 win Tuesday over visiting Harlan County. He scored 16 points in a win over Hazard on Wednesday and scored 25 in a loss at Knox Central on Monday.
