Dragons fall at Knox Central in season opener

Casey Bright and Austin Bargo teamed on a five-hitter as Knox Central opened the season with a 10-1 win over visiting Harlan on Tuesday.
Bright struck out six and walked one and gave up three hits in four innings to claim the win. Bargo struck out three in and allowed two hits in three innings to earn the save.
Bryce Imel led the Panthers at the plate, driving in two runs with a triple and single. Bargo had an RBI double. Isaac Mills, Cayden Collins and Colton Price added one single each.
John Mark Bryson led the Dragons with two singles. Jaedyn Gist, Dawson Irvin and Donovan Montanaro added one single each.
Evan Browning gave up six runs on four hits in 2 1/3 innings on the mound, striking out four and walking two. Irvin allowed three runs on one hit in 2 2/3 innings, striking out seven and walking two in his Harlan debut. Noah Lewis allowed one run on one hit with two strikeouts and one walk in one inning.
Harlan will play host to Red Bird on Monday.
