Bowen leads Jackets to comeback win at Harlan

Harlan’s Donovan Montanaro, pictured in action earlier this season, had a double and single on Monday in the Dragons’ 5-4 loss to Williamsburg.

Junior catcher Sydney Bowen capped a four-run fourth inning with a two-out, two-run double as visiting Williamsburg rallied for a 5-4 win Monday at Harlan.
Bowen led the Williamsburg (9-14) offense with two doubles and three RBI. Eighth-grade pitcher Isiah Sizemore limited the Dragons to seven hits while striking out six and walking one.
Evan Browning led the Dragons with a triple and two singles. Donovan Montanaro had a double and single. Andrew Roark singled twice.
Dawson Irvin started on the mound and gave up two runs on three hits with three strikeouts and two walks in three innings. Browning allowed three unearned runs on two hits in 2 2/3 innings, with two strikeouts and two walks. Aiden Johnson struck out one and allowed no hits in 1 1/3 innings.
Harlan (12-15) travels to Pineville on Thursday and closed the regular season at home Friday against Knott Central.
