Harlan County closed the season with a sweep of visiting Williamsburg on Thursday, winning 5-2 in boys action and 5-0 in the girls competition.
“What a way to close the season for our teams with a solid effort and team play through this last stretch of the year. This team came together through the season,” HCHS coach Caleb Bailey said. “We got a lot of experience for our eighth and ninth graders and that is going to benefit them in the future. Our seniors got one last win tonight and I couldn’t be more happy for them to go out with a win. Amber Lewis, Chandler Smith and Sawyer Cornett have played a big role in our programs in their respective position on the team. There is one last challenge left for our squads and that’s region. I am proud of our boys and girls teams. Region is going to be fun.”
