Tri-City Stars rout Corbin in opening round of district tourney

Tri-City took advantage of 19 walks and held Corbin hitless in a 17-5 four-inning win in the opening round of the District 4 softball tournament (ages 11-12) at Corbin.

Jordyn Smith had two singles to lead Tri-City. Aly Sherman had an inside-the-park grand slam. Lexi Foutch added a single.

Sherman and Smith combined on the no-hitter, pitching two innings each. Sherman struck out three and walked one. Smith had five strike outs and walked seven batters.

Tri-City will play Leslie County on Saturday at 5 p.m.
