Rosspoint sweeps Middlesboro in season-opening games

Rosspoint opened its season with a 34-15 win Monday at Middlesboro in seventh- and eighth-grade basketball action.
Jaylee Cochran scored 10 points and Reagan Clem added nine to lead a balanced Rosspoint attack.
Rosspoint coasted to a 40-2 win in fifth- and sixth-grade action as Shasta Brackett scored 10 to pace the Lady Cats.
Rosspoint opens county play on Thursday at Wallins.

Lady Dragons win twice in season-opening panorama

The Harlan seventh- and eighth-grade team opened its season Saturday with a pair of victories in a panorama at Page Elementary School.
Addison Campbell scored 14 points and Harper Carmical added 10 in Harlan’s 42-14 win over Page. Gracie Hensley and Payshaunce Wynn scored six each. SaraKate Fisher and Addyson Patton tossed in four and two points, respectively.
Wynn poured in 14 as Harlan downed Bell Central 36-26. Campbell scored 10, followed by Carmical with six, Fisher with four and Hensley with two.
