Lady Bears lose in three sets against Letcher Central

Harlan County’s Emilee Eldridge went to the ground to save the ball in action Thursday against visiting Letcher Central.

The Harlan County Lady Bears took on one of the 14th Region’s top teams on Thursday and fell 25-10, 25-12, 25-20 against visiting Letcher Central to fall to 3-4 on the season.
Ashton Evans led the Lady Bears with nine assists, four kills and two digs. Kylee Hoiska had 14 digs. Lindsay Hall added 10 digs, two aces and one kill. Kalista Dunn contributed six digs and four kills. Savannah Hill had six digs. Destiny Cornett added two digs.
Harlan County fell 25-14, 25-9, 25-13 on Tuesday at Corbin against the defending regional champions.
Dunn led the Lady Bears with 15 digs and four kills. Hoiska had 14 digs and one kill. Destiny Cornett added 12 assists, six digs and two kills.
The Lady Bears lost 21-16, 25-27, 21-6 in junior varsity action.
Cornett led Harlan County with 10 assists, five kills, one block, one ace and one dig. Kylee Moyers had five digs and four kills. Paige Allen added six kills, one assist and one dig. Savannah Hills added seven digs and one kill. Rileigh Duff had five digs and two kills. Taylor Clem contributed three digs and one kill. Katelyn Daniels had one dig and one ace. Abby Sherman added one kill.
Harlan lost 25-18, 25-14, 25-16 on Tuesday at Leslie County.
Annie Hoskins led the Lady Dragons with four kills, four digs and two blocks. Ella Farley had seven digs and one service ace. Marissa Marlowe added three aces, three kills, one assist and one block. Carley Thomas contributed two kills, two digs and one assist.
The Lady Dragons won 25-23, 25-17, 26-24 on Sept. 1 at Pineville.
Emma Owens led Harlan with 10 digs and four assists. Farley had 10 digs and one assist. Hoskins added five service aces, six digs, two kills and two blocks. Marlowe had 10 kills, three blocks, three aces and two digs. Thomas had four assists, three digs and one service ace.
