Harlan County’s Ray Splawn, pictured in action earlier this season, scored four goals on Monday in the Black Bears’ 7-0 win over Knox Central in the 50tn District Tournament.

Harlan County moved within one win of its second straight district championship by coasting to a 7-0 win Monday over the host Knox Central Panthers in the first round of the 50th District Tournament.
Ray Splawn led the 8-6-2 Bears with four goals. Matthew Jones, Brady Miller and Bradley Brock added one goal each. Hunter Smith contributed an assist.
Travis Burkhart recorded the shutout in goal for the Bears, who will play in the finals on Wednesday at 8 p.m. against the winner of the Barbourville-Middlesboro game.
