Rosspoint and James A. Cawood took much different paths Tuesday to earn spots in Thursday’s fifth- and sixth-grade county championship game.
Shasta Brackett scored eight points to lead Rosspoint in a 34-10 rout of Wallins in the opening semifinal as the Lady Cats stayed unbeaten in county action.
Brylie Wilson and Brooklyn Haywood led Wallins with four points each,.
James A. Cawood claimed a hard-fought 31-27 victory over Black Mountain in the nightcap. Addy Davis scored 11 and Talynn Napier and Clarissa Yost added eight each to lead the Trojanettes.
Mylee Botts and Vanessa Griffith scored eight each to pace Black Mountain.
