Coots, Brock lead Trojans past Cumberland

Thyler Coots scored 15 points and Landon Brock added 12 as James A. Cawood overpowered visiting Cumberland 47-17 on Tuesday in seventh- and eighth-grade basketball action.
Hayden Grace led the Redskins with nine points.
Bryson Kelly and Win Cooper scored 10 each as JACES won 45-22 in fifth- and sixth-grade action.
Hunter Fuson paced Cumberland with 15 points.
James A. Cawood won 16-9 in a fourth- and fifth-grade game as Seth Johnson led the Trojans with six points.
Kash Gooden scored nine for the Redskins.

Huff powers Green Hills to victory over Evarts

Ethan Huff poured in 26 points to lead Green Hills to a 37-29 win over visiting Evarts on Tuesday in seventh- and eighth-grade basketball.
Kobe Noe led the Wildcats with eight points.
Evarts won 27-10 in fifth- and sixth-grade action as Braxton Anglian led the Wildcats with nine points.
Arthur Harrison scored five to lead Green Hills.

Williamsburg edges Green Dragons in league tourney

Harlan dropped a 46-44 decision to Williamsburg in the seventh- and eighth-grade division of the All “A” Conference Tournament on Dec. 3.
Hatcher scored 17 and Henderson added 11 to lead the Jackets.
The Dragons were led by Eric Evans with 12 points and Jaxson Perry with 10.
Harlan rolled to a 39-15 win over Pennington Gap, Va., on Dec. 5 as Evans led a balanced attack with nine points.
Coeburn, Va., downed Harlan 39-17 on Dec. 7. Evans led Harlan with eight points.
Harlan returns to action Thursday against Middlesboro and then plays Cumberland on Dec. 19 to close the regular season.

Barbourville knocks Harlan out of tournament
Harlan fell in the first round of the All “A” Classic Conference Tournament on Saturday as Barbourville advanced with a 45-26 victory.
Noah King scored 17 and Samuel Collins added 11 for the Tigers.
Cooper Thomas paced the Green Dragons with 18 points.
Harlan won 10-8 at Pennington Gap, Va., on Dec. 3. Thomas and Brayden Clark scored four each to lead the Dragons.
The Dragons lost to Coeburn, Va., 33-30. Thomas led the Dragons with 18 points.
