Rosspoint’s Gunnar Johnson was surrounded by defenders as he put up a shot in action from the seventh- and eighth-grade county tournament.

Rosspoint and James A. Cawood are headed for the showdown most expected when they meet against Saturday at Harlan County High School for the seventh- and eighth-grade county championship following semifinal victories Tuesday at James A. Cawood Elementary School.
Cole Cornett scored 18 points and Brayden Morris added 13 as Rosspoint downed Green Hills 49-35.
Ethan Huff and Dalton Halcomb led the Falcons, scoring 15 and 12 points, respectively.
James A. Cawood edged Cawood 36-31 in the second semifinal as Kaden Jones led the Trojans with 18 points,.
Brady Smith poured in 25 points for the Comets.
The Wildcats and Trojans will play at 7 on Saturday for the county title. Cawood meets Green Hills at 6 in the third-place game.
