Harlan County sophomore forward Whitley Teague blocked a shot in scrimmage action Monday against visiting Barbourville. The Lady Bears won 47-24.

A sluggish start on offense kept the Harlan County Lady Bears locked in a close scrimmage against visiting Barbourville. Senior guard Ella Karst eventually took control in a 47-24 victory over the visiting Lady Tigers.
Karst finished with 20 points to lead the Lady Bears to their third win in three scrimmages this summer. Senior forward Paige Phillips added seven points, followed by Kylie Jones with seven, Faith Hoskins with five, Cheyenne Rhymer with four and Reagan Clem with two.
Karst had 12 points in the opening half, while Phillips added six and Jones scored five as HCHS took a 30-14 lead. Karst scored eight points in the second half as the Lady Bears outscored Barbourville 17-10.
Harlan County won 36-21 in junior varsity action and 38-19 in a freshman game.
