Rosspoint clinches top seed with victory at Cawood
Rosspoint locked up the top seed in the fifth- and sixth-grade county tournament and earned a first-round bye in the process with a 31-8 victory Thursday at Cawood.
Taylynn Napier led the Lady Cats with 10 points.
The Lady Cats won 44-8 in seventh- and eighth-grade action as Jaylee Cochran scored nine to lead Rosspoint.
Addy Cochran scored six for Cawood.

Wynn, Campbell lead Lady Dragons past Jackson
Peyshaunce Wynn scored 16 points and Addison Campbell added 12 as Harlan downed visiting Jackson County 39-34 on Saturday in seventh- and eighth-grade basketball action.
Rylee Bowman led the Lady Generals with 18 points. Sadie Turner scored 12.
Jackson County won 49-22 in fifth- and sixth-grade action as Tilly Truett scored 17 to lead the Lady Generals.
Jerrah Phillips led the Lady Dragons with six points.
Harlan will return to action this week in the All A Conference Tournament.

James A. Cawood split a middle school doubleheader Thursday against visiting Pineville as the Lady Lions won 39-12 in seventh- and eighth-grade action and the Trojanettes won 24-14 in the fifth- and sixth-grade game.
Madison Johnson led Pineville with 12 points.
Natalie Moore paced the Trojanettes with 11 points,.
Moore scored 15 and Adleigh Creech added nine in the JACES victory in the fifth- and sixth-grade game.
