Cawood edges Wallins in hard-fought game

Rosspoint, Evarts, JACES roll to double-digit victories

Cawood won a close game to start the action Thursday at James A. Cawood Elementary School, then Rosspoint, Evarts and JACES rolled to double-digit victories in the second night of fifth- and sixth-grade basketball.
Ben Cochran scored 11 and Brady Smith added seven as Cawood edged Wallins 20-16.
Tanner Daniels led Wallins with eight points.
Gunner Johnson scored 14 and Brayden Morris added 10 as Rosspoint routed Black Mountain 44-7.
Brenton Bargo and Kobe Noe each scored 14 as Evarts defeated Green Hills 43-25.
Dalton Halcomb led the Falcons with 12 points.
Landon Brock and Colton Delaney led James A. Cawood to a 35-15 win over Cumberland with 13 and 12 points, respectively.
Hayden Grace paced the Redskins with seven points.
