Wallins' Evan Simpson guarded James A. Cawood's Terry Delaney in middle school basketball action earlier this season. Wallins improved to 10-0 on the season with a win over the Trojans on Thursday.

Wallins remained unbeaten on the season by defeating James A. Cawood 54-39 on Saturday in a showdown of two of the county’s top seventh- and eighth-grade teams.
The 5-0 Devils used a balanced offensive attack and a strong defensive effort to take control early on the way to the win. Ethan Simpson scored 13 to lead the Devils, while Connor Daniels scored 12 and Hunter Napier and Trenton Cole chipped in with 11 each.
Jaycee Carter led the Trojans with 20 points. Terry Delaney scored 11.
Brody Napier scored 13 points as Rosspoint downed Cawood 37-27.
Ethan Shular led Cawood with eight points.
Shemar Carr scored 12 as Black Mountain defeated Cumberland 40-11.
Aiden Craig led the Redskins with nine points.

Brenton Bargo and Kobe Noe each scored seven as Evarts edged Cumberland 24-19.
Hayden Grace led the Redskins with seven points.
Gunnar Johnson scored 15 as Rosspoint downed James A. Cawood 31-23.
Landon Brock paced the Trojans with nine points.
Ethan Huff poured in 23 points as Green Hills downed Wallins 42-27.
Tanner Daniels led the Devils with 14 points.
