Redskins sweep doubleheader against New Harlan

Cumberland swept a middle school doubleheader Saturday against New Harlan at the Harlan County High School field.
The Redskins won 14-13 in the opener as the two teams finished a game that began Monday at Cumberland. The Redskins scored five runs in the fourth inning to break open a close game in 10-4 win in the nightcap.
Brayden Casolari led the Redskins in the opening game with three hits. Aiden Craig and Christian Teaster had two hits each. Josh Duckworth, Zayden Casolari, James Ryan Howard and Kayden Adams had one hit each.
Brayden Casolari started on the mound and had five strikeouts. Peyton Jackson struck out two. Craig struck out one.
Colby Shepherd, Jake Breer and Gunnar Johnson had two hits each for New Harlan. Bryce Makes, Tucker Ball and Gunner Burkhart had one hit each.
Craig scored four runs in the second game on two doubles and two singles. Teaster added two singles. Duckworth, Jackson, Howard, Connor Cress and Adams had one hit each.
Casolari pitched for the Redskins and struck out one.
Johnson and Brennan Blevins had hit for the Patriots.
