Browning pitches 4-hitter as Dragons defeat Pineville

Harlan’s Trey Barnes was safe on a slide into third base as Pineville’s Evan Biliter fielded the throw in Thursday’s game. The Dragons won 5-2.

Harlan scored three runs in the second inning and Evan Browning made sure that was enough as he pitched a four-hitter on Thursday in the Green Dragons’ 5-2 win over visiting Pineville.
Browning struck out 13 and walked four as he pitched a complete game to improve to 3-4 on the season with his second win over the past six days.
Browning led the Harlan offense with a triple. John Mark Bryson and Noah Lewis each had doubles. Donovan Montanaro added a single.
Evan Biliter led the Lions with a pair of doubles. Ty Clark and Wyatt Caldwell added one single each.
Bryson doubled to open the second inning. Cornett was hit by a pitch and Moore walked to load the bases. Montanaro walked to force in one run,, then Browning was hit by a pitch to bring in another. Shane Lindsey walked to force in the third run.
Cornett walked in the third inning and score on Lewis’ double to right for a 4-0 lead.
Pineville scored one run in the fourth and another in the fifth to cut the deficit to 5-2.
Moore reached on an error in the bottom of the fifth and Browning followed with an RBI double.
Harlan (8-14) plays host to Whitley County on Friday.
