With 24 wins heading into the final week of the season, the Whitley County Colonels are in a familiar position as one of the 13th Region favorites heading into the postseason.
The 24-8 Colonels rolled to an 11-0 win Friday at Harlan County as Mason Croley pitched a one-hitter. Croley struck out 12 and walked none as he faced only 17 batters in the five-inning game.
Sam Harp led the Whitley offense with four RBI on a double and two singles. Caden Petrey and Croley added two hits each.
Nate Shepherd had the only hit for the 10-18 Bears. Shepherd gave up eight runs (three earned) on four hits in two innings on the mound. Colby Johnson gave up three runs on seven hits in three innings.
