Dragons fall to Wolfe despite big night from Gist

Harlan’s Jaeden Gist drove in five runs Tuesday with a homer and triple in a 15-14 loss at Wolfe County.

Harlan dropped a 15-14 slugfest Tuesday at Wolfe County despite a memorable night at the plate from junior outfielder Jaedyn Gist, who drove in five runs on a homer, triple and single to lead the Dragons’ 12-hit attack.
Jared Moore and John Mark Bryson each added two hits for the Dragons. Ethan Cornett, Noah Lewis, Donovan Montanaro, Shane Lindsey and Evan Browning added one hit each.
Mayard and Wilson each had three hits to lead the 16-14 Wolves, who closed their regular season schedule.
Browning started on the mound for Harlan and gave up nine runs (five earned) on seven hits, with five strikeouts and six hits, in five innings. Lewis allowed six runs (four earned) on four hits in 1 2/3 innings, with two strikeouts and four walks.
The 10-19 Dragons travel to Leslie County on Thursday and play host to East Ridge on Friday.

Harlan fell 14-4 to Clay County in a previously unreported game from Monday.
Browning led the Dragons with a double and single. Cornett, Lewis and Moore had singles.
Moore started on the mound and suffered the loss as he allowed five runs (one earned) on one hit in one inning. John Mark Bryson gave up eight runs on five hits in 1 1/3 innings. Aiden Johnson allowed one unearned run on three hits in 2 1/3 innings.
