Tristan Cooper, pictured in action earlier this season, was on the mound Saturday as the Black Bears fell 9-4 to Knox Central in the first round of the 13th Region Tournament.

Knox Central senior Brady Worley avenged a loss at Harlan County two weeks ago as he scattered nine hits in a complete-game effort as the Panthers knocked off the Bears 9-4 on Saturday in the first round of the 13th Region Tournament at Jackson County High School.
Larken Abner had the big blow of the game with a fifth-inning grand slam. Cayden Collins and Jacob Osborne had doubles. Worley, Bryce Imel, Casey Bright and Abram Brock added singles.
Isaac Kelly drove in two runs with a triple and single to lead the 12-21 Bears. Nate Shepherd contributed three singles. Will Cassim and Zac Collett had doubles. Josh Swanner and Karsten Dixon added singles.
Tristan Cooper suffered the loss as he gave up four runs (two earned) on four hits in three innings. Brayden Blakley allowed five runs on three hits in three innings.
