Leslie sweeps Tri-City to capture Junior League title in District 4

HYDEN — Leslie County rolled into state tournament competition on the Junior League level with a doubleheader sweep of visiting Tri-City on Saturday, winning 19-4 in the opener and 16-1 in the nightcap.
Jake Brewer had a double to lead Tri-City in the opening game. Brennan Blevins, Kaden Boggs, James-Ryan Howard and Josh Duckworth added one single each.
Liam Garland, Boggs, Duckworth and Aiden Craig all saw action on the mound.
Brewer, Duckworth and Landon Boggs had singles for Tri-City in the second game.
Brewer pitched well early in the second game but couldn’t overcome four errors in the first three innings, leading to five unearned runs. Howard pitched the final inning.
Ryland Simpson pitched a three-hitter for Leslie County and got plenty of support on defense as Leslie made only one error.
Trenton Thomas led Leslie on offense with three singles in four at bats. Eli Crisp, Tyler Baker and Isaiah Caldwell had two hits each. Simpson, Caden Shepherd and Dalton Hoskins added one double each.
