Harlan County eighth-grader Kalista Dunn set the ball for a teammate in action Saturday against Pineville. The Lady Bears won in three sets.

Harlan County broke a season-long losing streak in dominating fashion Saturday afternoon with a 25-14, 25-12, 25-13 win over visiting Pineville.
Chloe Shelton led the Lady Bears with 15 assists and two kills. Lindsey Browning had seven aces and four kills. Lindsay Hall added seven aces and three kills. Kalista Dunn added seven aces. Gracie Ewing contributed seven kills. Serenity Whitehead had six aces and four kills. Lily Caballero added two aces. Mallory Taylor contributed one kill.
Harlan County fell 25-12, 25-17, 25-11 to visiting Hazard earlier in the day.
Shelton led HCHS with eight blocks and one kill. Hall had four kills and two aces. Browning added four kills. Dunn and Whitehead each had two kills.
Harlan County lost 25-16, 25-10, 25-10 against visiting South Laurel on Tuesday and lost 25-11, 25-11, 25-15 on Monday at North Laurel.
Shelton led HCHS against North with seven blocks and a kill. Browning had five kills and one ace. Caballero had two kills. Whitehead had two aces. Ewing had one ace. Dunn and Hall each added one kill.
Browning led Harlan County against South with four kills and one ace. Shelton added six assists. Whitehead had three kills, one block and one assist. Caballero had two kills and one block. Hall had one ace and one kill. Dunn had one ace and one assist. Destiny Cornett had one ace.
The 1-4 Lady Bears play host to Barbourville on Monday.

Harlan improved to 3-1 on the season with a 25-18, 25-17, 28-26 win at Lynn Camp on Thursday. The Lady Dragons lost 25-14, 25-15, 25-11 at Perry Central on Monday.

The Lady Dragons return to action Tuesday at home against Middlesboro.
