Lady Bears rally for victory at Middlesboro

Harlan County’s Destiny Cornett, pictured in action earlier this season, helped lead the Lady Bears to a four-set win Tuesday at Middlesboro.

Harlan County overcame a slow start but kept its win streak alive with a 15-25, 25-11, 25-19, 25-19 win Tuesday at Middlesboro.
The Lady Bears improved to 5-4 overall and 3-0 in district action with their fifth straight victory.
Kalista Dunn led the Lady Bears with eight service aces, 12 kills and one dig. Destiny Cornett had 10 assists, five aces and five kills. Chloe Shelton had 15 assists, two kills and one ace. Lily Caballero added seven aces, four kills and one dig. Lindsey Browning contributed three aces, nine kills and two digs. Kamryn Hoiska added four aces. Ashton Evans had two digs, two kills and one assist. Lesleigh Brown added two aces and one kill.
Harlan County plays host to Bell County on Thursday.

The Lady Bears rolled to a 22-20, 21-8 win in junior varsity action.
Brooklyn Wood and Kylee Hoiska each had four service points in the first set. Hoiska added two aces.
Cornett had seven service points and three aces in the second set. Brown added seven service points and two aces.
